Product Description
Overall Structure: A symmetrical dual-clamping arm (jaw/claw) design, with the middle and upper sections hinged via pins or rivets, and equipped with torsion springs or tension springs (shown in the figure as a transverse tension spring) to provide continuous clamping force.
Materials and Surface Finish: The main body consists of stainless steel, galvanized, or polished metal panels. The lower end of the clamping arms features a curved “hook/claw” gripping surface that passively opens upon contact with the bottle neck, bottle body, or guide rail; the upper section includes a black clamping/limiting component and black handles/levers or guide tabs on both sides.
Motion Characteristics: The spring keeps the two claws closed; when encountering a container or an open cam/star wheel track, the clamping arms swing outward around the pivot point and automatically return to the closed position after disengagement. The design is compact and serves as a quick-change clamping/securing assembly.
Applications
In KHS beverage, beer, and liquid food filling and packaging lines, these are commonly used for:
1. Container grippers or neck clamping assemblies on bottle infeed/outfeed star wheels or conveyor turntables;
2. Applications requiring gentle gripping and positioning, such as bottle washing/rinsing machines, bottle inverting/alignment, and buffer conveyors;
3. Bottle rotation prevention clamps in the capping/sealing zone (gripping near the bottle body or base to prevent the bottle from rotating during capping);
4. They can also serve as spring-return clamps or holding clamps in certain pneumatic or mechanical linkage mechanisms.
Functions
Elastic Gripping Containers: Utilizes spring force to gently yet securely grip, guide, and position the neck or body of bottles/containers.
Passive Opening and Closing: Under the action of star wheels or tracks, the gripping arms can open or yield; after passing an obstacle, they automatically reset and re-grip, enabling continuous, high-speed conveyance.
Anti-Rotation/Centering/Anti-Tipping: Stabilizes the container’s orientation at capping or processing stations, reducing slippage, tipping, and bottle jams.
Overload Protection/Safe Release: Similar to the KHS container gripper design, the gripper can open or is designed to detach or flip in the event of a bottle jam or abnormal external force, thereby reducing bottle damage and impact on the equipment.
Quick Maintenance: As a modular spare part system, the gripper jaws, springs, and pins can be replaced individually, minimizing downtime.
