Product Description
The overall shape is a thin-walled cylinder with precision-machined inner and outer surfaces; the end faces are flat with slightly chamfered edges. The material has the typical visual appearance of an engineering plastic or polymer (such as UHMWPE, PTFE, POM, or food-grade nylon). There is a distinct axial cutout or notch on the side (an open-ring design to facilitate elastic snap-fit assembly or to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction).
Specific Applications
In Sidel high-speed production lines (blow molding, filling, capping, and conveying systems), these support sleeves are typically used as anti-wear, isolation, and guidance components. Common installation locations include:
1. Tension rods and bottom mold assemblies: Fitted over the exterior of metal guide rods to serve as low-friction sliding supports, or directly as contact sleeves for preforms or bottle necks.
2. Isolation of rotating shafts and bearings: Used in filling machine turntables and star wheel shaft systems to isolate metal components from the food contact area, or as non-metallic spacers/liner rings at bearing ends.
3. Pneumatic components and guide rails: Clamped onto piston rods, guide columns, or conveyor grippers to provide self-lubricating support and cushioning.
Functions
1. Support and guidance: Provides stable radial support for moving shafts or bottles, ensuring coaxiality during high-speed reciprocating or rotational motion and reducing uneven wear.
2. Self-Lubricating Friction Reduction: Utilizing the extremely low coefficient of friction of polymer materials, these components replace metal bushings and can operate under long-term dry running conditions without additional lubrication, thereby preventing contamination of the production line.
3. Open-Notch Elastic Assembly: The notched design provides slight elasticity, allowing it to snap easily into shaft grooves or be secured with retaining rings, while accommodating thermal expansion and contraction or minor assembly clearances.
4. Hygienic Isolation: Prevents metal friction debris from entering the system, protecting PET containers from metal scratches.
